What do you like most about fishing?  I always struggle with this question because there are so many different aspects of fishing that I love. If I had to pick one, I would have to say though that seeing the bite is the best part. There is something about tricking a fish and watching it eat that absolutely fires me up.

How did you get started with fishing?  Growing up on the coast of North Carolina fishing has always been a huge part of my life. Some of my earliest memories are with my parents trolling for Spanish Mackerel off the beach. As I got older exploring the backwater creeks and estuaries began to consume me. Any free time I had was spent canoeing or wading around in search of redfish, flounder and trout.

What are your other interests?  Nowadays fishing consumes most of my free time. If the weather is nice and I’m not guiding I’m usually scouting. I also love to hunt so I make sure to leave plenty of time each year to get into the woods.

What’s your favorite Eye Strike Fishing product?  My favorite Eye Strike product is definitely the Redfish Eye in either pearl or gold. I would say I fish 3/16 oz jig for most applications. The 3/16 oz jig is enough weight to still make long casts into the wind but also light enough that you can land it in 8 inches of water without spooking your target.

What is something most people don’t know about you?  I enjoy playing guitar and banjo. I’m not very good but I always enjoy passing the time picking a little bluegrass tune. There is nothing like a cold beer, a campfire, and some good ole Carolina bluegrass.
