All new Z-Man Prawn StarZ – They Work!

At this year’s ICAST show, all the buzz was about the new Z-Man product offerings – They won Best in Category in two areas: Fresh water (ShadTron LT) and salt water (Prawn StarZ) soft lures.  We’ve been excited to fish these ourselves, and were lucky to be one of the first retail shops to carry them.  Of course, Ralph and I grabbed a few to fish ourselves.  We like to have first-hand experience fishing the items we sell.

That being said, Ralph and I took them on separate fishing trips and had very impressive results.  Ralph and his guests boated 7 or 8 nice flounder, with one almost 4 lbs, and several nice trout.  Me and my guest, Team EyeStrike’s Eric Hines (@fishing_penasco), and Brent Brauner from Huk Fishing, had a similarly great day.  I had a 19″ flounder and Eric caught his first southern flounder – a giant at 21″.  All on the Prawn StarZ.

Shrimp are the #1 live bait for inshore fishing – literally everything that swims eats shrimp.  And these shrimp in particular look extremely lifelike while having the extreme durability of Z-Man’s Elaztech material.  But they don’t just look good.  The weight distribution and sink rate are just right. You can work these in many ways, but really you don’t need to work them at all.  Just let them fall naturally on a semi-slack line and wait for a hard thump.  It’s that easy.

I took them down to Edisto Beach and my son Ian and I had immediate results with a 27″ and 29″ redfish caught back to back on them.

If you can’t tell, we are really excited about these lures.  Jose (Product Designer at Z-Man) and team did a great job bringing this lure to the market.  We are proud to offer them on our website in several colors and two sizes.

Give them a try – you won’t be disappointed!
